DRUM MEDICINE
I waited patiently for the call to walk with this medicine. I knew when it came, I would craft my first drum with my own hands. In July 2022, under the guidance of Medicine Drum Maker Tri-Spirit Creations, that call was answered.
The time and energy shared with these beautiful souls was nothing short of sacred - midwifing the birth of our drums, the beating hearts of Mother, and carrying forward ancient teachings with care and reverence.
In Spring 2024, I commissioned my second drum with Kaya Kailani of Kailani Sourcecodes. Kaya, a custodian of Light Codes, channeled and hand-painted codes specifically for my work as a death doula - codes to support those making the ultimate transition.
Words cannot fully express my gratitude for this medicine and its keepers. Now, it is time to sit with these gifts, to listen deeply, and to share.
The drum was the means the ancestors used summon the Goddess and the instrument through which
she spoke. The drumming Priestess was the intermediary between the divine and human realms.
Aligning herself with sacred rhythms, she acted as summoner and transformer, invoking divine energy and transmitting it to the community.
